 The LEGAL aliens should be even more POed than WE are because it is a direct slap in the face to them, they jump through all kinds of hoops, spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars to come in the right way and then see the gov. giving all sorts of incentives to the ones that merely jump a fence.

More than that they underbid them which is why I never did understand why latino organizations support illegals. It sems against their own self interest. I mean you take two barley English speaking guys from Mexico who are honest and will work hard. One legal, one illegal. The legal guy comes with OSHA, unemployment, minimum wage, the family leave act, withholding requirements etc. The illegal? You can screw him over six ways from Sunday and who cares? $5 an hour is better than what he made back home, and what's he going to do, call the cops if I don't give him safety gear? I've said before illegals drive down wages. I would put good money on the fact that its legal immigrants who get hurt first and hardest.

hmmm...some funny logic, but that might be why Latino organizations do support legalization....it WILL level the wage playing field.

Yeah but remember many of them were illegal till we granted amnesty etc.  The fact is people want to get here which is a good thing (kind of like rich canadians with health problems) but legal or illegal the bigger issue to me is dependent/independent.  It is the crack cocaine of government dole that destroys lives, both theirs and ours.  As was stated earlier...snowbirds come and gee they need a hand out, but they don't want to pay.  To many people want.  And of course the story they tell sounds all happy unless you happen to have a brain and think about things like balancing the check book and that there is a work/reward combination.  But then again, our most highly paid (and often the ones at the forefront of the handout parade) are media/entertainment types who "slave" away for a life a perks and piles of money.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying go ahead and tax me when I say produce your own food, I am saying, have the ability to opt out when the crazies try to control your life and yes, do all you can to keep the crazies from ruining your life.

Notice when these elite Hollywood types praise socialism, like Oprah and Michael Moore, they do so AFTER they have secured their fortunes in a CAPITALIST society. Once again, do as I say, not as I do. If Oprah had lived her entire life in Denmark, which she loves to praise as the all wonderful utopia, she would have less than 25% of the wealth she has earned. The rest would have gone to the Denmark government to pay for all of everyone else's wonderful entitlements.  Bill T.
