The IRS has had an Enforcement branch since the beginning.  Remember that was how the FBI was started in the first place.

As for them needing it, the Fresno IRS building got at least a dozen bomb threats a year while I worked EMS there.  We'd send a standby and SWAT unit over while the Bomb Squad cleared the building.  Seemed to start in Jan and end in May but I can't for the life of me determine WHY  ??? ;D

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

I don't think the shotties helped at all with that one.  Does this mean there is gonna be a requisition order for a bunch of Ma deuces?
