Agreed. I have no problem with someone wanting to end it. Sometimes too much is enough and its time hit the off button. Who am I to judge? But can you please just do it the privacy of your own home and not take a bunch of innocent folks who want no part of your sad noise out with you? Hell, you'll even save on ammo costs.

another off the wall observation....I have wondered about why a suicide would take the six strangers out first.  My hunch is that they might not have the nerve to end it, but killing another is easier...and after doing so, they have effectively ended their life...there is no going back, so doing them self in seems the only way out and easier.

You seem to be on to something. Its like suicide by cop You don't have the nerve to do it, so you force someone else to and hope they shoot straight. In this case, you've burned your last bridge and have no choice but death, by your own hand, or years later by lethal injection. I'm no shrink, but this actually does make sense. Thing is though, I'm not sure these scewballs think things through that far.

While I tend to share your wonder at the arrogance of some of these freaks, I think it's more of a "These suckers never showed me any respect, so I'm gunna off myself just to show 'em.  But because I hate 'em so much for all the disrespect, I'm gunna take a bunch of 'em with me."  It is still fatally flawed (excuse the pun) logic, but hey, if you're talking about a nut case, logic doesn't play a big part.  It strikes me that this is another rather strong argument for CCW.  When a nut case draws a weapon, everyone of his nearby co-workers out to draw down.  It's sort of an extrapolation of the old concept:  People are really polite at gun shows.

I think Rabbit that you have just made the best CCW/pro-2A argument ever. When was the last time you heard of a mass shooting, armed robbery or car jacking at a gunshow? Yet there were all these guns around. Aren't they supposed to cause violence? Letting people know you are armed won't get you out of all trouble, and in some cases might invite it, but given that most crimes are impulsive, I would bet 9 out of  9 1/2  muggers will go for he unarmed guy rather than the one who is open carrying.
