AR 15 Scope Choice?
« on: February 04, 2010, 08:33:31 PM »
Looking for a scope for my AR 15 Flat Top.  Has anyone tried the new
Weaver 4 x 20 50mm Tactical First Focal Plane?  It is in the same price range as the
Sighthtron SIII 6 x 24 Mil Dot that is on my M70 Target 308.  I would by another Sighton SIII
but Like the  idea of 4x for close targets. Like the return to zero turrets and FFP for ranging too.
The AR has a white oak 24 in 1 x 8 barrel with a Geisslie trigger.
I will be using it for long range varmints and long range paper punching, (600 yds).
Night Force & US Optics outside my current budget.

Thanks in advance!

A lot of good glass out there, what is your budget if you don't mind me asking?

SOOOOO many options out there for what your talking about as an application!  It's really a matter of budget, then personal preference.  Most anything over 10X requires adjustable parallax.  But for consistently hitting 600 yard paper, maybe a fixed 16X would be the ticket.   :-\

I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!
