kids say the best things

and the funniest...   


just yesterday   these were from our daughter,  she is 4yo
this is what My Wife told me what she said on the way to child care

Tremea this morn in car : "when babies are stuck inside their mummies tummies the doctors would have to cut the mummies tummies open." I replied "yes some babies do but you weren't were you!" Tremea replied "no you've got a hole in your mini that's how I got out .... You pushed your tummy."
Hmmmm the things kids learn. I asked where did you learn that. She replied "hmmm nowhere....... I figured it out!"


then later on that day  at childcare  ( My Mrs Runs it )

my wife was showing 5 new mothers through the centre  and our little one ran up to her for a hug and to say Hi to the new mums

she then went on to tell them

apparently the look on ALL of the mums  faces was priceless  and one of the mothers said  wow  My Husband would love that...   hehe got even a better reaction  haha

How do you do it, Phil?  I can't get my 9 year old (or my wife) to come even close to helping me clean after a range trip.

These little milestones help remind us all that hope remains alive (even when FQ starts spouting his batsh!at-crazy political ideas :P).  My grandson (13-months) just learned how to get his feet to work and is now running my daughter all over the house.  It's pretty cool.
And, once again I have to side with FQ--at least on the Glock idea.  It's pretty much drool-proof--an important consideration when arming babies.  I think I'd pro'bly go with a Model 26--small, shoots 9mm, less kick than a .40 S&W Model 27, won't take up a lot of room in the diaper bag. ;D  Anyway, Tex, remember this moment and how proud you felt today when she gets a little older and discovers shopping malls and credit cards and you can't get her to shut up. ;)

FQ13 who thinks a five year old with a 9mm DAO is age appropriate, but one going cocked and locked is a bit too "controversial". ROFLLMAO. ;D ;D ;D

If they're old enough to shoot, start 'em with the best.

And besides, the rust thing is a moot point in my book...... I do it properly.....I start 'em with maintenance first....then shooting.   ;)

Can't wait until spring so we can go to the range together (I also wish there was an indoor range nearby).  She wants to try to shoot my Cimarron SAA.  Maybe I can make a deal that she has to learn how to clean it if she wants to shoot it.   ;D

My wife is going to take a women-only shooting class next month.  Hopefully they'll stress the importance of cleanliness.

I had a beautiful little  youth model German Mauser, single shot bolt in .22 short.  My Grandad got it an estate sale along with several other guns (it was a buy the lot deal). The thing was probably worth $1k, IF you could find a buyer :-\. The action was like glass and the wood was drool worthy. It even had a brass name plate on the stock, bearing the kids very German name (Lothar something or other) :). Lothar was a lucky little bastard. The only thing I can compare it to is a Colt Python or a Webley best grade shot gun that I briefly owned. The one time I shot it, clover leaf groups at ten yards (despite me being hunched over it like a troll), were routine for the fifty rounds I fired. All I can say is wow, German engineering indeed. I would have shipped it to you free if I had read your post a couple of years ago. As it is, I donated it to a local Boy Scout troop (whose rules require single shot .22s). Oh well. Still, get the girl a .22 rifle. She seems like she deserves one.

I am either going to get a couple of old Lithgow .22's  and cut the stock down on one  and paint them pink  or   there is a Pink Savage Arms single shot .22  or CZ youth model  that I have seen
