Just couldn't help myself
« on: February 12, 2010, 02:58:29 PM »
I decided after a week of carry that I wasn't 100% sure I liked the USP9. Mainly since it's weight and profile lent itself almost exclusively to staying at home and since I couldn't mount my new Insight light to it without shelling out some additional cash. So I took it back to my dealer and was able to exchange it flat for a brand new Glock 23 OD with 3 mags and holster. On top of that I spent the extra for a set of XS 24/7 big dot sights from MidwayUSA for $80. Love it! (Not as much as my M&P9c) But I figure if I'm going to limit my self to 15 rounds of 9mm in the USP might as well go for 13 of .40 with the option of 15 or 17 rounds should I feel so inclined to add the extended base plate. Plus, my Galco Summer Comfort was made for G22 and fit like a glove (I still carry my M&P in it go figure the flexibility). Like I've said many times before I am not ANTI-Glock and this proves it. I still love my M&P and in a crunch it will be by my side not my Glock.

Nice handgun.  I too am not anti-glock, but do find the M&P more to my liking.  I would like to have one of the 1st generation Glocks, no rails, no front strap checkering... they looked cooler back then.

Felt better too. I had two, a 17 and a 19. My 26 is third gen and the grips don't fit my fingers. Its no big deal and I still love the gun. The thing is, what rocket scientist decided to produce a "one size fits all" custom feature in a grip? With the gen ones, I didn't have to worry about the grips. IMHO its the one stupid thing that Glock has done. Still perfection, but perfection with the cavat of (why the hell did they have to "improve" something that didn't need it)?

If that were the case, we'd still all have those Miami Vice brick phones...engineers MUST justify their existance by "fixing things that ain't broke!"....

Glock 23 is a good gun. Congrats. Though I prefer my GLOCKs in black. Or Blue camo. (One day when I've got the extra $$$ to blow, I'll find an inexpensive used GLOCK and have it duracoated Blue camo.) ;D

I caved late last summer and went to the darkside with a Glock 21. I love my M+P as well, but the G21, is such a full size railroad tie with a trigger, that I can always beat the BG with it.  ::) There's more steel than plastic,...

It is a gun that will just work. Not finicky, picky, or needy of a lot of maint.  It will work in the rain, snow, mud, dirt, sand, and the tests have been done to prove it.

Always good to "Celebrate Diversity"... ;D

Congratulations!!

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

True but the first time I carried a 1911, it was only 67..... ;D

And technically, I never finished school so you can't call me an engineer until I decide if that's what I want to be when I grow up!
