Concealed carry of speed strips
« on: February 16, 2010, 01:09:22 PM »
Whats a good way to carry speed strips??? I carrry them in the 5th pocket on the jeans now, but they're too hard to get to when NO STRESS is involved. Whats a good way to carry them where I can get to them easier?

Hey Walter, I also carry Bianchi speed strips.  However, I rarely wear jeans, the 5th pocket it the most practical, I did try wearing my evil anti gun Levi's and it made sense and fit well, with just the tab of the strip accessible.

How tight are your jeans? Would looser jeans facilitate better access?

Since I wear cargo type shorts most of the time, I carry them on my weak side front pocket, or thigh pocket.

Not much other option for me due to clothing, but they are certainly easier to carry than the big round speedloaders.

Unless they make a belt "holster" or maybe a belt worn knife sheath type thing, I don't know where else to put them.

Just my .02 cents, maybe someone else has an idea.

It's cold now where I live so I carry it in my strong side jacket/coat pocket.  Dillon used to have a pouch/wallet that is warn on the belt for warm weather wear.

Wrap a couple in a hankerchief/bandana and put in your rear pocket. I've seen a couple of older police officers do this for their J-frames, and they find it convenient....
Why, yes....I'm the right-wing extremist Obama warned you about... ;D

Hmmm... a second J-frame..... But where would I carry my wallet when I put it in my left pocket?? ;D

The pants and the pocket are plenty loose. The ones I wear are carpenter style jeans, and have an extra deep 5th pocket. Which seems to be what makes it so hard to reach the speed strip.

I use my bandana pretty often, so I;m not sure I won't drop my ammo carrying it wrapped in a bandana.

speed strips are pretty close to the size of a cell phone....

I would think a cell phone holster would work.

I keep my strips in any empty pocket, I try to stay consistent but it depends on wardrobe.  They might come out upside down and backward but as long as the pocket only contains strips you will be OK.

Also, make sure you replace your strips every few years, they get brittle and dump rounds when they get old.
