Teen Attacked in Tunnel Not So Nice herself
« on: February 18, 2010, 10:18:48 AM »
So I dont know if you guys have seen this story about a 15 year-old girl that got beat up in the Seattle Bus tunnel. It has made national news and she has been on many shows, Good Morning America ect. ect. She has claimed that Seattle police were ignorant and the security guards who stood by and did nothing were also to blame. You can see the attack on video surveillance. Now I want to say yes it does suck that no one stepped in to help her, but at the same time you have to look at the surroundings, many 20 year old males fueled with anger themselves, and involved in all this, were around the fight. So stepping in could mean you are going to be hurt. Also the security guards did just what the city of Seattle told them to do. Observe and Report. Security in the Tunnel used to be manned by off-duty Seattle police, but since the public was so mad about how much money was being spent to pay these Policemen over time for protecting citizens they contracted out to a security firm that has no Jurisdiction to arrest or cite people. All they can do is call the Police.

Here is the vid of the "beating"
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011038862_webbeating10m.html

This girl who has played the victim so well and has cried on TV at why "No one would help her." And now how she is "afraid" to go in public now, turns out she isnt really a victim at all. This article about her is great you all need to read it. This girl is a real piece of work. And this fight was no random occurrence. This girl should be ashamed of all the trouble she has cause the honest Policemen who did what they could do. She is only 15 can you imagine when she is in her 20's.

The best article I have ever read. Karma is a B***H

No doubt. I thought something was fishy about this story from the beginning. The whole incident was blown out of proportion by the OMG media. I've seen more violence on the Springer show!

I don't care what "my job was". There is no way I would have just stood there and allowed someone to kick another person in the head repeatedly. She could have been very easily killed. Then what? What she did, or was like, has no bearing on these guys just standing there like nothing was happening. Every one of those buffoons should be fired! This is what's wrong with this country. Too many people have this, hooray for me, and screw you attitude. That, along with, "Hey, that's not MY JOB!" Common sense has to come in somewhere. There certainly was none applied here.  Bill T.

Sadly, common sense is extremely UNcommon.

yeah, while she herself may not have the best background it doesn't mean in the case of her getting beat on in that incident shouldn't have been brought to a stop, it could have turned much uglier to people who were true innocent bystanders.  I believe plenty of the stories we see on "home protection" may have more to the story of "crack dealer defends home during break in" etc.  It doesn't take away from the fact that the city paying to have 3 guys stand around lending "presence" in a watch and report scenario is a waste of tax payer money.  Either decide this is a place that needs to get cleaned up, needs real security, etc and deal with it or fairly warn people but don't give me the "pretense of security" and then match that with an inability due to regulation to protect myself.

Hey, it's Seattle, Dude! The guards weren't allowed to use violence to stop violence. Looking more and more like the cops in Demolition Man these days. . . .  ::)

And in other news, the stellar human being who falsely accused the Duke players of rape 4 years ago was arrested for attempted murder, assault and arson. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,586554,00.html?test=latestnews.

See it all the time when I deal with bar fights. People get mad when you charge them with felonies when they kick people while they are down. They are down, If they were armed they would be able to shoot you in self defense.

That bit put up a good fight when she was pushed onto the street. She carried her fight to the wall where the she fell down and that gave her attacker the chance to score points. As much as she probably deserved it somebody should have stepped between them when she was being kicked in the head, but, in a way I'm glad nobody risked their well being by stepping in... imagine the surprise of that person to learn he interfered in a long standing fued.

Totally agree with you, there is a difference between a scrag fight and somebody stomping on some ones head.
