At lunch I went to the local gun shop and ordered an XDM in 9mm.  The lady working the counter said 4 weeks.  For my sanity's sake, I hope it comes in sooner.

4 weeks? I was told that about another pistol I wanted, went on gunsamerica.com picked the one I wanted, asked my local gun shop to accept it through their FFL, paid $25.00, still came out ahead, and had it in less than 1 week.

Was this your only option? Either way congratulations. I was just wondering, if four weeks was your only resource.

There was an $80 difference between my two local gun shops.  Neither one had the gun on the shelves, and even if the more expensive one did have it available, I wouldn't pay an extra $80 to cut my wait time for a second gun.  I'm a little leery of buying a gun I haven't touched or seen off the internet.  I know a lot of good deals can be had on those sites, but I'm just not comfortable paying for a gun I haven't laid hands on.
