You guys get the Sportsman Channel??
« on: February 19, 2010, 07:26:08 AM »
I discovered last night that The Sportsmans Channel does their own version of Wednesday at the Range called Lock and Load Thursdays.  Their lineup is very similar to the Outdoor Channel lineup.  They have a TV version of Handguns magazine, a self defense show, a show about airguns...its a nice setup.  The show Personal Defense TV is not quite as informative as The Best Defense, but still has good information.  The best part is that it is in HD like Guns and Gear on Versus Channel...

So now we can all have 2 days worth of Gun Shows...sweeeeeet.

Unfortunately, I can't get either channel unless I sign up for a huge sports package including NFL, NBA, etc, etc.  I couldn't give a rats behind about those and I refuse to pay for a bunch of channels I won't see.

so...I don't get either unfortunately. :-[

I get both Outdoor Channel and Sportsman's Channel.  It is quite clear that Wednesday Night at the Range programing is far superior.

Have yawl tried calling your provider and asking for the channels ALA CART? I think Dish and Direct do it for about $2 each.

That's what I figured I could do but Comcast doesn't seem to either be set up to do that technically or they are unwilling to do that from a buisness perspective.  Bundles of channels only.

Yes, the ODC and the SC cost me an extra five spot....plus I get a bunch of other sports programming that I care nothing about.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are my remote nights.  The wife gets the other five nights...

Hello;

     I have the Outdoor Channel, for $2.99 extra a month.  Wednesday nights were my night to watch "Cowboy's". However they have been repeats several times over. I have not watched the Channel lately because of that. I did e-mail Larry Potterfield about that since he sponsors the show and new segments are on the way but when is not sure.

     I can watch only so many deer,elk and birds shot for so long until it also gets repetative.

     Outdoor Channel had added The Sportsman Channel to the line up months ago and it has the same deer,elk and bird type/style shows. I think I watched about 30 minutes of the Sportsman Channel and skip by it when browsing for somthing on TV.
