Tiny gun. Know anything about it?
« on: February 24, 2010, 03:10:40 PM »

My late father-in-law gave this to me a number of years ago, and I just ran across it while looking for something else.  I think he may have been given this by his mother--Bunny's grandma--who was in the antiques business.

The little gun is about the size of a dime, as you can see.  There is a small pin just above the trigger that releases the top-break that hinges in front of the trigger.  The nail-like object is a ramrod to expell the blank cartridge afer firing--yes, it really goes "bang. The pistol's grips may be silver and are nicely filigreed.  The little weapon is made of some fairly rust resistant metal and has a nice shine.  The barrel is hexagonal.

Do any in this amazingly knowledgeable accumulation of weapons experts know anything about it.  Any information will be welcomed and deeply appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look.

What does it shoot? Seems too small for even .22 LR.

I had a mini cannon that shot tiny little blanks, (about the same size), got it from the Gettysburg Battlefield Gift Shop years ago.

They were not those little red blanks that we all grew up with, but little tiny guys like the ones you show in your pic.

That one looks really ornate in the grip, is there any micro stamping on it? Made In "Wherever" or anything?

I guess I forgot to mention that the little black "seeds" are the cartridges that the little guy fires.  TW, I have examined that thing with a jewelers loop and I see no microstamping or maker's mark or KT stamp--nothing.  The 2mm pinfire cartridges look about right.

This place never ceases to amaze me with regards to the depth and rapidity of the knowledge base.

Timothy gets the "attaboy" for sure. We're still batting a thousand on the "yet to be stumped" factor.

 ;D

Looking forward to range report CR, should make a "cat" jump out of his chair..... ;D
