M&P45 technical question

I just picked up a FS M&P45 to add to my ever growing collection of M&Ps and found that after comparing the internals of the 40 and 45 I am truly puzzled. My 40 has seen nearly 1200 rounds so some difference is expected but, when I dry fire my 45 I notice that from the point the trigger is taken up to the point the striker is released it is like the trigger is being pulled against a rough stone. I understand that break in is needed and as such and I apologize for bringing up an obviously visited topic but I am curious why if everything between the trigger and slide are smooth to the touch such a rough trigger pull is happening. My new M&P9c does not have this issue, in fact it is smooth like my 4 year old 40. Any thoughts to smoothening this out. Weather is preventing me from getting to a range to break it in so I understand that there are limits to the help yall can give. Any Ideas or tricks yall have found?

Could be some tiny particulate machining shavings, in there. Some wd40, or brake cleaner to flush, compressed air to remove,  with a follow up lube and range time session.

A couple of my NIB pistols I took home and stripped had micro shavings, of "crap" in them, and dirty factory grease. My FS M+P 40 bought in early 08, was bone dry of any lube anywhere, and when I folded a patch and ran it through the inside slide grooves there was black "particles" you could feel on your fingers.

Just a thought.  Get a good light & mag. glass, remove the slide,  and check to see if some of the crap is in the mag well area. in the trigger mechanism, especially around the mag release.

Sounds like good flush, lube, and range session, should get it like butta....

M+P's are like rabbits, turn your head real slow and another one will appear....

I did something that I have been hesitant to do to any of my striker fired guns. I removed and cleaned the striker assembly. The striker spring on the 45 was considerably heavier than my 40 or 9. My 45 wasn't really dirty but I figured it was worth the effort to clean and oil the entire assembly and it was amazingly easy. Thanks to AGI's M&P armorer's video it only took about 5 or 6 minutes per gun. My FS 40 already had an excellent trigger pull but after cleaning off 1200+ rounds of caked on crap and brass shavings the trigger breaks without hesitation. Absolutely wonderful and with no resistance. My 9 which is also relatively unfired same thing. It only has fired about 30 rounds so some break in is still left but otherwise a clean trigger as well. I hope that after a range trip or 2 for the 45 the trigger will at least smoothen out and with a little luck ease up a bit. I have my NRA Instructor course in 10 days and I'm told that this instructor requires about 400 rounds fired throughout the course for various reasons. Should provide plenty of trigger time on all 3 M&Ps.

Where did you get the Armorers Video? I also have the M&P45 with the manual safety. I didn't like the trigger on it either when I first got it, but it has gotten a little better with some practice. I would like to see an Armorers video of the M&P series. If you haven't tried it before I think you'll find the 45 has quite a bit more snap than the 9 does! I had all three of mine out to the range last Monday to let a friend try them out. It was the first time I had the 45 and 9's at the range together and it was a bit more noticeable difference in the recoil firing one after the other. I usually pic a single caliber for my range sessions. I do want to add a 40 to my collection to round things out!

I haven't shot my 40 or my 9c yet....HaHA it's my first 9mm at that. The only other one I've shot is a M9. I cannot say where I got my copy of the AGI video because the person who gave it to me got it without going through the normal purchasing process. Basically he put it on a thumb drive and now it's on my computer. You can order it through Midway USA and I believe Brownells.
