Don't get me wrong, but...

Please, don't misconstrue me as being a racist, on the contrary, I believe EVERYTHING should be equal, across the board.  That being said, it irked me this evening when I was flipping through the channels and came upon the NAACP Image Awards.  How is it fair for African Americans to have an exclusive awards show when, if the shoe were on the other foot, it would be considered racist.  I know I've griped about this before, but it's like this; slavery was abolished years ago, equal rights have long since been established, and their is a black man in the White House.  It is now past time, in my opinion, for an end to affirmative action as well as race specific awards, magazines, t.v. networks, etc.  If equality is going to be a reality, it must be observed and universally applied by EVERYONE.  Okay, rant off.

In your rant you forgot the "Congressional Black Caucus".
The fact is that since the 60's the biggest racial problem in America is the anti WHITE prejudice exhibited by liberal politicians buying the votes of the minority vote cattle.

And there is a Miss Black America and black this and black that...  Somehow, that's not racist.  But, can you imagine the outrage if we had a Miss White America?  How about a White History Month?  Or The White Congressional Caucus? 

Every "white" anything would be considered racist--and probably justifiably.  But label it "black" and somehow it isn't racist.

Swoop, I think you are absolutely right about it being time to stop this nonsense.

As to any racism you may think is part of my make-up, I absolutely deny it.

It is racist...but the racism cuts both ways...

By singling out Blacks with events and affirmative action, it is not only reverse discrimination, it builds ill feelings towards the group.

In a Republic composed of immigrants from all over the rest of the globe any recognition given to ancestral origins is "Racist".
As in Ancient Rome, the only things that should matter is, "are you an American Citizen ? " and, "Are you pulling your own weight or are we supporting you ?" .

I should really immigrate to the states I reckon I would fit right in.
I have said before I reckon I uphold more american values than any democrat born there, perhaps we could establish a Aussie/yank exchange program, all gun nut republicans like myself could come over on a visiting/working visa and the useless watermelon (green on the outside, red on the inside) democrats could come over here and get a taste of bludging and shooting their mouths off for no good reason. If after 12months we aussies fit in, are working, shooting and support the bill of rights and the constitution we stay, if the democrats dont work out in australia well we can drop them off halfway home. Win WIn  ;D
