Violence can strike at any place at any time and public spaces can be the scene of violent action designed to hurt as many people as possible. Have you thought about the options you will have if you are caught in an active shooting situation or how you might execute your response?

Excellent program.  This exact thing has been discussed with all of my CCW friends and I.  Normally we use "The Bst By" as our public space due to it being the first place we ever talked about it. 

I really hope that situation never comes up but if it does I hope that I have enough wits about me to do something about it.  I really liked the reinforcement of the "moving to give yourself a better/safer shot"  Most of the time I carry my .32 for the mugging type of crime.  I know it is a step above carrying a knife (carry that too) but I have always tried to think about moving either away or towards the threat depending on what is going on and who I'm with.  TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING!

Rob and Team, Congrats on another outstanding episode!  Your breakdown of the situation and attention to details is very helpful.  It is very educational to see the different responses you can have to the same situation and you did not rush through or make assumptions which made this show first rate.  No doubt, this education and quality presentation will keep a viewer out of harms way; maybe not in the immediate future, but the attitude and practical skills you are teaching are creating positive changes in both lifestyle and mindset that will benefit your audience.

Great episode!  This followed up on the last episode.  Rob, I must compliment you and Micheal on your presentations and tips.  I was leary of some of the tips presented by Micheal in past episodes.  I definitely don't have his level of training or experience in unarmed or blade combat.  This last episode changed my perception.

I really appreciate the segment on what to do in locations where being armed is not allowed.  Please continue to look at this area. I know each of you travel significantly, your approach to defense while on the road and cannot carry would be an area of interest to me.

Yes Rob, I have thought about it, I think 1st respond, seek cover, don't just freeze, if your the 1st close target, ( Well do what you got to do  ) once behind cover, call 911 or try to angle the shooter if your armed, a point of discussion, it seems to me in an environment with lots of bystanders, shots if possible, should be taken from kneeling or prone to promote an upward angled shot, that would pass over the heads of said bystanders in the event of a pass through. My favorite scenario in my head, is a movie theater both inside and outside, Both brightly lit and very low light, many targets for an active shooter, and many targets to avoid if your trying to counter that shooter. By favorite, I mean worst nightmare. Lots of sheep at the movies. Once in the room, mark those exits in your head, make a plan. As always, get training.

I also mark the exits in my head whenever I go into a public (or private for that matter) building.  And of course, don't forget to mark the doors to the kitchen or storeroom - they're all valid exits when the stuff hits the fan!
