That was halfway to hell...
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. That was halfway to hell...

Then turned and went home and said F**k it.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I know a different version. ;D

Back on task:

You asked what the mission should be and that is a good one.  I think its funny, the leftist harped during Bush's term that there was no set mission in Iraq and Afghanistan was the "good war".  There was a set mission in Iraq and we have seen that one pretty much achieved despite asshats like Reid and friends attempts to the contrary.

Now we have an "enlightened" person in an office that he has no business being in aside from the popular vote and a toddering old goat (read McCain) and you hear nothing of strategies et al.  The MSM is driving the car and its only going to that magical mall where they sell universal health-care.  Once they are finished "fundamentally changing America".  They might figure out what's going on in Afghanistan.  As it stands right now, its a distraction at best.

Are you asking what the mission should be?  I believe the glass floored, self-lighting parking lots referenced earlier is the best way: Khyber Pass my ass.  That is not possible because someone may take offense.  My best answer?:  Win.  Drop the silly ROI that are handcuffing our troops, define what will constitute victory, and then achieve it.   I would define victory as establishing a working government along with a functional defense force.  Then remind everyone of a couple of things:  We're now finished.  If anyone is gonna feel a bit froggy we can have a couple of B-52s on station and orbiting with some JDAMs.  Oh and by the way, if you feel the need to hide behind "civilians" we don't care.  We have fire bombed both Dresden and Tokyo and a BBQ is a BBQ.  You stay on your side of the world and farm rocks.  We'll hang out over here.

Here's a bit of news that seems to be over looked by the MSM here that is still driving to that mall:

I don't think you can blame that one on Bush, but good luck...

The problem with the foreign press is you never know the source of a story, Is this planted by us, to make Iran's military start thinking about their futures ? Did they plant it to try to smear the war mongering infidel's of the "Great Satan" ?
Or did some reporter notice and report that "By Jove, I think the "Yanks" are going to sink the bloody Island with the weight ".
At least with domestic news you know it's ALL slanted.

It was my understanding that it was available for anyone to source out, but I believe it to be a saber rattle.  It goes to show that there are still some adults in the Pentagon somewhere despite the no flag zone in Haiti.
