Back on task:
You asked what the mission should be and that is a good one. I think its funny, the leftist harped during Bush's term that there was no set mission in Iraq and Afghanistan was the "good war". There was a set mission in Iraq and we have seen that one pretty much achieved despite asshats like Reid and friends attempts to the contrary.
Now we have an "enlightened" person in an office that he has no business being in aside from the popular vote and a toddering old goat (read McCain) and you hear nothing of strategies et al. The MSM is driving the car and its only going to that magical mall where they sell universal health-care. Once they are finished "fundamentally changing America". They might figure out what's going on in Afghanistan. As it stands right now, its a distraction at best.
Are you asking what the mission should be? I believe the glass floored, self-lighting parking lots referenced earlier is the best way: Khyber Pass my ass. That is not possible because someone may take offense. My best answer?: Win. Drop the silly ROI that are handcuffing our troops, define what will constitute victory, and then achieve it. I would define victory as establishing a working government along with a functional defense force. Then remind everyone of a couple of things: We're now finished. If anyone is gonna feel a bit froggy we can have a couple of B-52s on station and orbiting with some JDAMs. Oh and by the way, if you feel the need to hide behind "civilians" we don't care. We have fire bombed both Dresden and Tokyo and a BBQ is a BBQ. You stay on your side of the world and farm rocks. We'll hang out over here.
Here's a bit of news that seems to be over looked by the MSM here that is still driving to that mall:
