480p Sucks!

My very expensive LCD TV would like to file a formal complaint (No grenade/complaint dept jokes, people)....... 480p sucks!

You guys that have the ear of the higher ups at The Outdoor Channel really need to get them to come out of the stone age and start broadcasting in 1080.... or at the very least 720p. Come on guys, this is 20-freaking-10. I really can not be expected to watch such low quality television can I? I want to see those bullets fly in High-Def, please.

Looks great on my cheap 20 year old "regular guy" TV sets.......  No wonder I have money in the bank!  By the time I get around to one of those sets, they'll have gone down to a few hundred bucks.

I'm still waiting for DAT to come back along with the 8-track!

I personally can't see much difference.  My TV (are they still called TV's?) is 1080, hooked to digital HD Comcast cable, with a very expensive bunch of gold cables that are supposed to transmit much better images (according to my son a Comcast guy).  I have HD this and HD that, but my eyes are not HD.  Maybe that's the problem! 

I'm usually on the down side of the high tech curve, but when I bought my new house 3 years ago, I decided to go HD.  I even have HD cable to my new computer, I use Google Chrome, and my house cordless phones are fiber optic.  So far......whatever!  I do not own a laptop, I-pod, MP3, no Blackberry, no sliding keyboards in my watch, and my cell-phone is obsolete.  I use it to make old-fashioned phone calls and I'm very happy with it. 

I did get a GPS (Garmin) for Christmas that I quickly figured out (with help from my son), but I doubt that I ever would have bought one for myself.  Heck, I know how to read a map.

I was a former HD fanatic in NC, all it cost me was more money. Yes there is a difference, but most network television sucks, and doesn't need, or isn't worth watching in HD.

I just stick to the HD stuff for watching DVD's.  I have a HDTV, but just have standard DirectTV, than have a Blu-Ray DVD player which is great.

I have the surround audiophile super system, which scares my neighbors when I play movies with lots of gunfire...

But I'm getting to old to keep wanting the latest greatest pre-amp, line conditioning, cross-over, isolating sub-woofer, crap, with peripheral interfacing.

Give me my damn Peter Frampton, album (yes those big black spinning things), on my perfectly good Kenwood Turntable, and open a cold one...

Still have two Peach Crates full of albums, in mint condition. (Sad,,... ,,,but still jammin'''"

Seriously, My tv, not a flat screen, just a regular old 28" TV, no digital or HD, DVD player and cable internet is just fine. I want my phone to be a phone and nothing else, and I still have many dozens of cassettes (and wasn't that great technology )  many more CDs; and like TW, occasionally stick needles in my music. I'm happy. Bring any more damn progress around and I'll get out my 50 year old designed AR and chase you off my lawn!
