So last year I ran a couple USPSA club matches with the SR9. Only mod was a fiber optic front sight. Gun comes up to a very natural point of aim for my hand, and is nice and narrow. Don't think it is the best choice for production due to the thumb safety that other striker fired designs lack, but it did pretty well.
My Ghost Rocket connector arrived today and over the last 3 1/2 hours I got it fitted without to much difficulty. (It is a bit more complicated to detail strip than a glock though). What a GREAT improvement!!! Shorter lighter crisper. Reset seems more positive though no shorter than an unmodified pistol. While I had it apart I also trimmed the frame where the trigger bar grinds against it.
Now I have a quandry.... Just got geared up to run the Gen 4 Glock 17 and now I am feeling the SR9 love... If Ruger would come out with a 5 inch version sans thumb safety and extended controls I dont think I could resist going ruger. I am a bit busy during daylight the next few weeks but will take her back out to the range now that trigger has been enhanced.
Kudos to Ghost for delivering a great aftermarket part!
