Look, ,I'm going to wade into this thing, and probably piss some folks off (gee, what a refreshing change

). Still, here's the the deal. When I was in school in DC, I was a fairly serious pro-choice organizer (NRA too, but there were only about 3 of us in DC so it wasn't much to brag about). In 1989, or 1990, I forget which, there was a similar march on DC to protest the Webster case that rolled back a woman's right to choose (or murder her infant in the womb if you prefer, its not the issue here). Tens of thousands were expected to, and did, show up to march. If you were anyone in the pro-choice community, you wanted to be there. Until it came to the Hollywood celebrities.....

. Part of my gig was to round up folks not just to speak, but to be at meet and greets in hotels to give an "atta girl" to the volunteers. These folks were all pro-Roe v Wade, until it cost them time. We offered airfare and a room at the Willard (best Hotel in DC, right on the mall), but no fee. Amazing how many folks said no. It was amazing (though sadly not surprising) to hear the politley worded "Nos". Still I couldn't help thinking, "You say you are for this issue and a whole lot of folks who make a tenth what you do are paying out of pocket to be here. Yet you can't can't show up without an appearance fee when I'm offering a $600 a night hotel room and airfare for you to show up at a cocktail party"? Get off my obstacle Private Pyle!

Not judging the Nuge one way or the other, and I don't care whether he speaks or not. But, I will be watching to see whether he shows up. Until then, the jury is out and I will make no judgements.
