"Profiles In Cowardice"
« on: March 21, 2010, 10:18:27 PM »
Another chapter has been written this evening with the passage in the House of Representatives of ObamaCare.  Many Democratic representatives who gave the "impression" that they were going to vote the will of their constituents or their personal beliefs caved in to pressure from party leaders and the administration.  The threats ranged from no support from the party in the November elections to no appointments for key sub-committees or chairmanships or not "getting plum office space".  For Bart Stupak of Michigan, the Great Car Salesman of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue promised him an executive order which can be withdrawn anytime without notice in order to get his vote.  As it turned out, it was the deciding factor in the outcome.  Never in the history of our country have so many been against an issue and voiced their concerns only to be totally ignored by our elected officials.  This will be only the first of many I'm afraid.  Next, will be immigration reform followed by Cap and Trade.  The Constitution became a little more tramped on today.  Kinda makes me want to march on Washington, D.C. on April 19, the anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution!

I'm waiting for the next Patrick Henry to step up and say to the fraud sitting in the White House, " You have 24 hours to resign or you will be resigned."

A lot of us are just waiting for a spark that brings out a clear leader, like that other April morning.

You know I like, well ,respect you ;D But I hope you're not reffering to April 4th 1968. I assume you're not, but please clarify for those who don't know and respect you, because otherwise, some understandable but unfortunate misinterpretations could be made and we really don't need that.
Peace

It is my understanding that existing law cannot be changed by executive order, if it can then you can throw congress and the supreme court out the window because we now have a dictatorship in charge.  Cry for America. :'(

FQ,
With Tom's encyclopedic knowledge of history, it is safe to say that he assumes no one would ever think that,  since MLK was assassinated in the early evening....

I have broken bread with Tom, and I can honestly say that I have never had even a trace of a feeling he has any racist bent.....

You jumped the gun here bud....
Regards,
Scott

FQ, there are times your "intellect" makes you just a drooling, babbling moron. That other April morn, as in the OP, is April 19.

And although I am prepared to deal with this at the ballot box, others may not. At this point, after last night's betrayal of the US Constitution, who the hell are you to say that they are wrong? Stay focused on the real problem here.

BTTT - most of the Revolutionary War leaders rose to the surface after things got started. There were no real movement leaders on April 18th, other than the militia leaders and a handful of Patriots who made sure that word went out. Once the smoke cleared at Concord and Lexington, and the route back to Boston where the Patriots sniped the hell out of the retreating Regulars.

"Parliament" has passed something akin to the Tax Stamp Act. What are Patriots - real and faux "libertarian" ones - going to do about it?

PS: Stupak was a fool to believe that a$$hole in the White House. May he see the error of his ways in his next election.

In the great struggle against England, many of those supporters lost everything they owned.  Will our tipping point be before or after the government takes it....or will we tip at all in this generation?
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
