McCain article Politico

Something to think about.

As mentioned on another thread McCain and Guiliani are the only two I could vote for after Fred. And Fred has 10 ten days to move mountains in SC which isn't likely.

Clayflingythingy, Are you nuts ? Any member of the gun culture who would vote for Rudy has some seriuos issues and should seek professional help. Are you one of these voters with a 6 month memory span? Quetion, Who was the east coast sponsor of the liability lawsuits agaist gun manufacturers. Answer that and you will see why I think your a fool.
As for the "manchurian candidate" (Kane, oops,  mean mccain) He voted for amnesty for illegal aliens, He co-sponsored McCain Fiengold law which is a violation of YOUR 1st amendmant right to lobby for your candidate, and he has stated he would support a ban on "assualt weapons. Nice choices your making.

Are you nuts ? I think your a fool.
  Nice choices your making.

Trouble with the internet, is it is so hard to have an adult, intelligent conversation. Was all that really necessary? Aren't you the guy  so attuned to NH politics you predicted Fred would win?

For Fred to have a chance he has 8 days to set the world on fire and WIN SC. Another third won't do. The odds are against Fred. And simply sitting around SAYING Fred will win ain't gonna make it happen. Unless there is a sign of a Fred surge in SC in the next few days we can write him off for good.

McCain, if he wins Mi next week will knock Romney out of the race. That leaves McCain, Huckabee, and Guiliani.

I will never vote for Huckabee or Romney.

If it came down to a choice between McCain or Guiliani vs Hildabeast or Obama I would vote McCain or Guiliani.

Remember, Presidents do not pass legislation, congress does. A Dem win in the prez race would most likely mean big Dem pickups in Congress that would allow them to pass antigun legislation without Rep being able to stop them. A Rep win would likely blunt Dem congressioanl pickups.

I know exactly where I stand with McCain on guns. I would have to depend on Congress to make sure the "gunshow loophole" bill doesn't pass. Guiliani has flipped from his previous antigun stance which makes him a panderer. But, oddly enuff, I more or less take hime at his word now as he would want to get reelected and not piss off gun owners.

And there is more than one way to ban guns. Let's say a Dem Congress votes to ban all lead in ammo. Who do you trust more to veto such legislation, Hillary or Guiliani? Since we know Hildebeast would sign it in a heartbeat, and since Guliani would want to secure his reelection, gun owners would be more likely to persuade Guiliani altho it wouldn't be 100%.

It is comes down to the lesser of two evils thing, ya know?

Whoa there! Great discussion folks, but you are all forgetting one of the primary ingredients! Anyone who has slithered (the most approprate word) to the position where they can run for POTUS is basically a lying, steaming pile of dukey. Can't we all agree?--- at least on THAT?

ANY of them, if it would benefit their position, would turn 180 in a heartbeat. The person who doesn't think THAT is the fool.

Clayflingythingy, No I'm the guy "So attuned to NH politics " I predicted fred in 4th, go back and read the post.
I will agree that congress and senate races are equally as important as Pres.
Another factor I will point out is the Heller case, I the supreme court rules 2a prohibits ban on hand guns it will  severely handicap (but not rule out ) any future atempts to ban a type of weapon. Seems like if that were used along with the Miller case it would be extremely hard to justifyany further AWB.
