Neat Idea For Off Body Carry
« on: January 11, 2008, 09:51:53 AM »
FWIW This probably could be posted on at least 2 other topics and maybe is but I can't find it sooooo.  Just finished reading the weekly e-mail from Tim at USCCA and in it is a neat idea that can be used for off body carry - purse, "Safepacker" and etc.  He talks about a devise for parents to help them keep track of small kids.  It works like this.  It is a 2 part devise...clip one part to your child/in your "Safepacker" and put the other part in your pocket or whatever.  It can be adjusted for 6 to 30 feet.  If you get beyond your set distance from your "Safepacker" it beeps to let you know.   Neat idea and causes me to rethink OBC.

Stupid me I forgot to say that it is called "Child Guard Transmitter" and I believe that is the web address.

The address in the newsletter is Child Guard Transmitter!  I clicked on in the Child Guard Transmitter in the newsletter and it went to the site but I don't know how to set that up here.  There was no www so I could only guess.  It took me to the site selling the transmitter.

Jim, thanks for your help.  I'm not as computer literate as some.

The bad thing about these, is you'd really have to be careful that the batteries don't run out, ESPECIALLY if you're outside in extremely cold weather. Cold drains batteries quick.
