Do Not Buy "Ready To Assemble" Furniture, EVER, NEVER !!

I will never do this ever again! Melanie wanted this nice Oak kitchen island. So I told her to just go ahead and just get it.
Big mistake!! I thought because of the price it came assembled. Even bigger mistake! I will never build another piece of furniture again! Ever. Never Ever Again! It all worked out OK, but my God what a pain in the a$$! I never assembled so much crap in my entire life! I would rather build a bolt action rifle with a hammer, chisel, and a file! Don't ever do this guys. I'm telling you now, buy the damn thing totally assembled, no matter what it costs! It does look really nice but it only took 1 hour to mount my scope on my new Kimber 8400 with lapping and all. This pig took 7 1/2 hours start to finish!! She is happy though, and so am I, so I guess that is all that matters. Just take it from me..... buy it already built!!!  Bill T.

I'm with you, my wife bought everything for my son's room from IKEA. I'm talking like bed, shelves, dressers, chairs, table and so on. I spent a lot of time crawling on the floor with an Allen wrench.

"Ready To Assemble" Furniture is where manufacturing tolerances come in to play BIGTIME!!!!!  Been there done that.  I couldn't agree more.

The worst thing are the damn hand drawn diagrams. You would think for the price, along with the fact we now live in the digital age, they could at least include detailed actual photographs, instead of drawings that look like they were hand drawn by a third grader 20 minutes after receiving a shot of Demerol.   Bill T.
