What AR does Rob Pincus shoot on BD
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:09:01 AM »
This may have been answered already, but I just joined the forum so here goes.  What is the brand and model of the AR-15 that Pincus is shooting on Best Defense?  What about his pistol?  Thanks.

I typically see Rob shooting a G23 but he has also used, I think, a Beretta 92FS. But mostly a Glock of some kind. In terms of rifle, I have no idea.

Ask on the Defense and Tatics page. Just label your post "how to enhance your bust size/make millions working at home/does anyone have a good feral cat recipe". He's sure to notice then. ;D

He has stated on several occasions that many time he uses 'borrowed' guns because it saves on transportation hassles, so the list may be long and varied as to what types.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

You'll to be more specific, Salesguy... I do use a lot of borrowed guns, sometimes I use my own... but the real problem is that I don't just use One type. Lately, I've been shooting a couple of Bravo Manufacturing Company guns when I have my own, but I also have shot Colts and DPMS' for a couple of segments within the last 6 months. As for pistols, Rugers, FNs, Glocks, 1911s and S&W (revolvers) have all been used in demo's this season between SWAT TV and TBD.
For me, the demo's are about the techniques and tactics 99% of the time, not the specific tools. One of the reason I specifically rotate guns is to make that point. Unlike some shows that allow themselves to be boxed in by obligations to constantly use advertisers guns, I've been able to avoid that and keep the emphasis on the training message.

Hey Rob, You do demonstrate that point well in each of the shows. It's all about practicing with what you have. Since you do have the opportunity of seeing a variety of shooters shoot a variety of guns my question may seem kind of stupid. Of your shooters in your handgun courses, have you seen anything from the M&P in terms of issues in operation. I have several and love them but I am curious if they actually keep up with their Glock competitor in the field. I've seen all the anecdotal stuff but I am just curious what you ahve seen in the real world. If nothing stands out to you then I consider that to be a sign in it self.

G4L,

I encourage you to post that question in the Handgun or Defensive section as well... I can't "split" threads from this forum...  If you do, You can paste in my answer:

I have seen no significant issues with the M&P... I routinely recommend that people looking for efficient defensive handguns look at the Glock, M&P and XDs to figure out which one fits their hand best and that they like the most. They are all equally excellent outstanding places to start.

Thanks for the response Rob.  The AR I am refering to is the one you use on the concealment/cover issue where you shoot through a refridge.  The one with the tan stock.  I am new to the shooting world and am in the market for an AR type rifle.  I thought that particular one looked very compact and user friendly.  Many of the ones I see seem bulky and plain out ugly guns.  Thanks for what you guys do on the show.  It is great info for newbies like myself.  Keep it up.
