You need to start explaining this like a true businessman:
You are not cutting their pay! Your workers' pay is a combination of their gross pay, your share of social security and medicare, medical coverage you give them, retirement plans you fund, and any other benefits you pay or provide for them. Most people think they earn $X and the employer's share is just magic money. When you start paying an extra $100 for their medical you can cut their cash pay by $50, and they still received a $50 raise ... And this ain't fuzzy math either!
