Would YOU SUPPORT OR OPPOSE having an openly gay person serve in any of the following roles?

                                      SUPPORT/OPPOSE
President                                  50%/44%
Supreme Court justice                55 /40
Secretary of state                      56/39
Commissioner of baseball             61/32
Super Bowl quarterback              62/29

*But if Dont ask/Dont tell was still on the books wouldn't a gay commander in chief have to resign?

I honestly don't care if they are gay or not, nor do I care if there are gays in the miltary.

As long as he isn't doing it on my dime, I don't care who the President sleeps with or wants to sleep with. I'm a lot more concerned with whether he can balance the budget, whether he respects the constitution, and whether he can keep the country safe.

Gays are pushing their agendas down our throats as if they were legitimate civil rights issues. They are really only trying to force us to accept them as being morally right, or OK. I don't care who someone wants to sleep with, but don't tell me that I need to make marriage laws , or any other traditions and laws, accommodate them and don't expect my vote.

If this current POTUS admin, keeps up this pace, I won't care if it's Bobo the Clown running,....BHO is a one term, Carter v.2.0, blip in American History.

However, this country is going to have a big problem with it.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

You really have to look at the source of the survey, I would have thought that the numbers for would be much higher coming from Vanity Fair and their readers.

Go out into the real world and I think you will get a much different response.

IMHO (Remember, you get what you pay for) I do not want a gay president for two reasons:

1) He is the Commander in Chief, and like having gays serve in the armed forces, I think that it would have a negative effect on troop morale

2) I think it would have a negative effect on our culture, and I do not want someone that is in direct contrast to my moral and religious beliefs to be in such a high profile position. Could he do a good job as CEO of our country? Sure. However, every elementary school student knows who the president is. I dont think we need to put ourselves in a position where we have to try to explain why he is holding hands with and kissing another man.

Chalk me up for don't ask, please don't tell, and I really don't care. I mean, I know way too much about Clinton's sex life, and prefer not to imagine W.'s or BO's. You think a gay pres would be bad, I have three words, Dick Cheney naked. Euuugh. As 2how said, as long as you're not a priss and I don't have to hear the details, its not my business.

PS as far as troop morale? The IDF has accepted gays for years. Do you want to mess with them?
