Uh,.....Why? ??? Just to admire the bruised shoulder? I still think .380 ammo is more expensive.... ::)

Need some bean bags in that barrel, that would keep the kids out of my yard!!!! Thump em' with a 1/4-1/2 lb. bean bag.... :o

I've shot a 4-bore. It was...bracing. Wouldn't mind shooting a couple of rounds, if an ambulance was standing by!

Ok, to return to (semi) reality, that's 5 times the size of a ten gauge. Firing slugs, they had a term for it, a swivel gun mounted on old sailing ships and fortifications. However.......however, make it an ML BP with a smooth bore and load with say 1/2 ilb of #6s, its a puntgun. Captian Quaker's Iguana and Python Safari might offer a swivel gun on the bow of the jon boat. Replace the the front bass seat with a swivel, load that puppy up with # 7s and well.... A #7 20 gauge at 10 grams is 140 pellets give or take. At 226 grams for a 2 bore? You're looking at 2500 to 3000 pellets. Now that boyo's, is Everglades hunting.

I read an outdoor life article about a British gunsmith who made 2 Bores. They said the geese fly really high there, so they hunt them with 2 bores, 4 bores, and such. I think the article said he was working on a 1 & 1/2 bore. I dunno that I'd want to shoot it.....

So Bore (gauge) is the number of bore sized balls that can be made from a pound of lead.

A 1 bore would a 1 pound ball.  A 1/2 bore would mean a pound of lead would only make half the ball, so it would be a 2 pound ball.
