The thing to keep in mind is that at least another western was produced. Sure it wasn't the best but, to my way of thinking it was better than not having a new western at all. I liked Gus's character (he really seemed to try and get Duvall's manerisms down), the costuming and weaponry was pretty good too. Yeah, it jumped around a bit but I thought it was to have mini flashbacks to try and establish the characters in the storyline. I liked comparing the people to the folks they were representing in L.D. and matching them up in this prequel. It was kinda slow in parts but I enjoyed trying to pick out who's who and why things happened in L.D.
I just watched the remake of 3:10 to Yuma and outside of the guns and clothing was really Hollyweird in the directing and the storyline. I would rather have new movies made rather than remake after remake; there has to be some new ideas out there.
