[Updated 10:45] North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD,  scrambled two F-16s to intercept the United Flight at approximately 8:45 p.m. ET as the jet was en route to Denver, Colorado, according to a NORAD statement.[Published 10:26] Federal authorities say a disturbance aboard a United Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., to Denver, Colorado, Wednesday night occurred when a passenger apparently tried to set a shoe on fire.

Law enforcement officials met the plane on the ground in Denver and there were no reports of injuries.

"The situation is under control. The flight is on the ground," a federal law enforcement official said.
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

(Right or wrong) I thought it was a felony to smoke and or disable the smoke detectors on a plane.  They probably found out he was Christian. YOu know how Comrade President feels about 'those people.'  forgive the sarcasm...just in one of those moods
