I think an episode should be made about the castle doctrine and how it pertains to you.  Also which states have a duty to retreat, where to retreat to and what is justified when a shooting is unavoidable.  I am from upstate new york and there is alot of gray areas pertaining to this law.

Its hard for a show with a national audience to speak on laws that are written at a state level. It could become very confusing and dangerously misleading.

Perhaps just going into HOW the laws can differ, and what that can mean as in the difference between "Justified" your free to go Vs. Manslaughter 7 -15.
Make it plain to the new comers that they NEED to know their local laws and that they vary so much, YOU have to do it for YOUR area.

He touched on it in one of the shows.... mainly about how things do vary so much state to state, and that the best thing you can do is go talk to a lawyer who specializes in this kind of stuff. Ask him to explain the law in lay-mans terms and explain the precedents set by case law.

I think we've covered the idea of "should versus Could" on the show... do a search here and you find a few threads touching on the topic.

It is hard to do comprehensive TV that applies to all jurisdictions when it comes to the nuances of law and case law... the good news is, as you'll see in those other threads, I think that the law is irrelevant to the question of WHEN to use force to defend yourself. That should be based on perceived NEED, not the legal option.
