I'm not talking about the gay issue.  I am talking about a President ordering a department head, with power, to enact rules that will eat away at one thing after another.  We have seen it with OSHA, and fortunately that was over turned.  However, every time these secretaries make a rule it goes into affect without any elected official having input.  It then takes valuable time and energy to undo the damage.

 My wife is post polio. She falls. Last Saturday she fell and broke her tibia and fibulia. They operated on her, she already has a rod in her femur, now there is one in her tibia. Then she went to a rehab hospital. Some where along the line, she caught C-Diff, an antibiotic resistant super bug, like MERSA.  She had to stay an extra week on our dime.
 7100 patients a day gets this crap in health care facilities, the medical personnel is not following protocol when it comes to cleanliness, THIS is the problem with health care. I don't care if they can see their partners, just keep the darn germs at bay! The floors are shiny but the toilets are gross!

Woody, there is a lot more to it than just "Cleanliness".
Consider that your local hospital is a warehouse for every illness, germ, and Bacteria in your area, sanitation , to be effective, needs to include air filtering that incorporates UV radiation as some stuff is unaffected by anything else.

I absolutely agree Tom, the drop ceilings for example. Fiber glass , and the materials they make the ceiling tiles out of is a mold producer. I would use plaster, seal it and forget it. The A/C system needs to be cleanable, Why can't they Y in a sun tunnel every 100 ft or so to let sunlight in, then use use clean room filters and UV light chambers for return and supply sides. Separate systems for surgery rooms. Clorox will kill the stuff, but Purell and Lysol won't. Go back to ammonia and bleach. Quit prescribing antibiotics at the drop of the hat, spin the pathagens in an auger and find out which patch of antibiotic kills the specific one. Bones on Star Trek was right, our medical system is barbaric. The bailout money could of been used here to our advantage. This old system is costing all of us money from the hospitals to the consumer. We are running out of fingers for the dam.
