Holster blues.......
« on: April 17, 2010, 10:32:17 PM »
I bought an FNH FNP 9 USG a couple days ago & Galco seems to be the only company that makes a holster for it. I was looking for a serpa from Blackhawk or an IWB from Don Hume but they don't have squat. I've never owned a Galco are they worth the money?
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty, teeth and keystone under independence. The church, the plow, the prairie wagon and citizens' firearms are indelibly related. From the hour the pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that, to ensure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. Every corner of this land knows firearms, and more than 99 and 99/100 percent of them by their silence indicate that they are in safe and sane hands. The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil influence. They deserve a place of honor with all that's good. When firearms go, all goes. We need them every hour." Every Galco I've run across seems to be well made. They are a well-established holster maker that has been around a while.

Also, there is a guy on here named Andy Langlois that has a custom holster business who has done work for other members.
Check out the thread at this link: http://www.downrange.tv/forum/index.php?topic=3339.0

Send him a PM or email and see if he can make one like you need.

Also try Fist Holsters at www.fist-inc.com or ca;; 800-443-3478.  I had them make me a holster and it is top shelf!  They can make it your way (for a price).

For IWB I highly recommend Tucker Gun Leather's "Silent Thunder."  It is leather lined kydex with an adjustable cant and retention.  I've got one for my FNP-9 as well as the 1911s.

This is the first firearms related business that I ever heard an advertisement for on the radio. Now there is all sorts of firearms related ads. God bless Texas.

Comp-Tac makes an IWB Kydex or leather. Their Spartan model works IWB for my FN9.  Also Bianchi 3S makes a Leather version with thumb snap,

Bladetech PDS IWB is a nice one.  Safariland 27 Inside-The Pant Holster Polymer insert to retain shape when empty.

And YES Galco is very good, look at their SkyOps, Summer Comfort, or Ultra Deep Cover.

Just happened to have the new Midway Master Catalog infront of me. ,,,,and no I don't work for Midway,....(I wish I did though)...

Holsters shouldn't give you the blues,....turn that frown upside down. ;D

+1  I have a FIST K1 holster for all my pistols. I'm very happy with them as well. I use one every day for a G19

I do have a Galco 3 slot belt holster for my P239. Very well made and still in good shape after many years. Still use a Galco belt as well.

Galco does have quality gear.

There are a lot of nice custom holsters but I want one asap not in 3-10 weeks. I'm gonna order the Galco "Concealable Belt Holster" & give it a shot. It looks well made, comfortable, pretty easy to conceal with the right shirt & if Galco is good enough for Bob Munden they're good enough for me. Thanks for the suggestions there's some nice stuff out there if you have the money & patience!

Galco is solid. I have one of their "el cheapo delux" IWB models. Cost a whole thirty dollars. They probably wish they'd never made it and I keep lookng for a reason to upgrade. Its a soft, inside out leather IWB. No structural integrity and its impossible to do a one handed reholster. Still, its the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. I honestly forget I'm carrying sometimes. It took two weeks to get used to, but now I don't even feel the Glock. Not for everyone, but for me, I wouldn't sell it for $100. If the rest of their line is as nice as this one, you won't be dissapointed.
