I have made the distinction between a democracy and a republic on this forum several times.

My signature here makes that statement with every post.

Even folks on this forum need to be thinking of this country as a Republic, as it was envisioned by the Founding Fathers.  

Anything less leads to the acceptance of democracy.

If you need to check how close we are to becoming an oligarchy, look at how Congress exempts themselves from the laws they pass.



As an aside, notice how those who believe in a Republic are described as Constitutional Moderates

Great find!  This was very informative and changed the way I see things.  It begs the question after Healthcare got passed even though the majority of the people did not want it, what kind of Government have we (d)evolved into?  It almost seems like the people through a democratic process elect the Oligarchy who then in turn rule as they please.  We elect the President, but then the Oligarchy (Congress and Senate) manipulate the Pres and vice versa to get what they want, no longer serving the people who elected them and put them into office.
This video is going to stick with me for a while and drive a lot of thought.  Best go to the range and clear my mind!
