Strike Hold?
« on: April 20, 2010, 04:19:28 PM »
I have been using Break Free CLP for a while now. I saw a Strike Hold video yesterday & had to have it. I went looking & the only place I could find it was an RV store! I picked a can up for $13 bucks & when the salesman called the warehouse to ask if they'd heard of it I heard him say "oh the magic lube!" so it can't be that bad. Anyone use it or heard anything good or bad...mostly bad? I field stripped my pistols & gave them a good once over with it, I hope it works as advertised on the video I saw & will post below.
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty, teeth and keystone under independence. The church, the plow, the prairie wagon and citizens' firearms are indelibly related. From the hour the pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that, to ensure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. Every corner of this land knows firearms, and more than 99 and 99/100 percent of them by their silence indicate that they are in safe and sane hands. The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil influence. They deserve a place of honor with all that's good. When firearms go, all goes. We need them every hour." Brigid has discovered Strike Hold also.

Just saw she was using it today.

I emailed their contact info with this question....."Will this product harm my firearms sights, finish, wood/rubber grips or polymer frame/parts?" & This is the response i received this morning...."Thank you for your inquiry.  Strike-Hold will not harm wood finishes,
rubber, polymers and most plastics. I say most because there could be some very soft plastics that may be adversely affected, but "normally" occurring plastics such as those associated with weapons or common tools have been shown to be unaffected.  You should use normal precautions to wipe optical lenses dry should any overspray come in contact with them.  If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us by phone at the toll-free number below.  Mike is our technical expert and can help you with specific application questions." I feel much better about using it on my weapons now!!

He says it on one of the youtube videos but she didn't mention it in the email. It seems to work ok & doesn't seem different than Break Free CLP to me.

He didn't mention it's effect on sights either...

Probably through some undiscovered catalytic effect, it causes the small amount of tritium in gun sights to reach coital mass.

I did take it easy around the trijicons on my Glock 21 just in case! It's been over 24 hour since i cleaned them & everything is still looking & working perfect.
