I think that this has enough co-sponsors that it could get some consideration.  They've tried so hard to make this sound "REASONABLE"    (I think more TREASONABLE, myself). BUT, I'm thinking after the mid-term elections......Who knows.

I'm also thinking that if congress ever does give this consideration, it will mainly be used as fodder to go for a total ban on private transfers.    IOW, they will have committee meetings, people will talk about the cost, the burden, the possible 1st amendment problem, then the a joint committee will swap out this bill for one that simply requires ALL transfers to go through an FFL.

NOW, here's the sort of sneaky thinkin' I do.

I willing to bet the Brady Bunch, and like minded people  would rather see this bill pass as is, than a total ban on private transfers.  Reasoning, this bill will wreck so much havoc and make so many criminals out of innocent people that it would do the most harm to firearm ownership.

Senate Committee on Homeland Security meeting today on Terrorists and Guns.   10am.

Not that any specific gun control bills will come up but this seems like a good place to push it.  Bears watching if anyone is near C-Span today.

Agreed. Thing is we might get Zumboed (I can't belive I just made that a word :P) if it does leave committee. After all, every gun dealer in America will love it. A free $25-$55 profit just for filling in a form. Gun dealers are no different than any other business man. They hate government regs, right up until those regs deliver them money. Then, its just "Commonsense legislation in the interest of public safety". There will be exceptions, but they will be the exceptions. :-\
