School Suspends Student for Removing MEXICAN Flag
« on: May 10, 2010, 08:43:09 AM »
What have we allowed our Great Nation to become? It is a sad day in America when our schools are suspending students for showing love of our Flag and Country. I hope everyone calls (I am) and I hope you pass this on to others.

Local School Suspends Student for Removing MEXICAN Flag

Yesterday, a listener’s son was offended that his school, Klein Collins High School, displayed the Mexican flag prominently. His mother called to complain, and the school wouldn’t return her call. The student took the sign down.

The school pitched a fit, reviewed the surveillance tapes, found the student, and suspended him for 3 days. AND he has to pay for the flag. In light of the SF story of students sent home for wearing the AMERICAN flag because it offended the Hispanic students, :'( I thought you’d like to know about a story closer to home.

Right here in our community. Feel free to let the school know what you think. You pay their salaries.

Klein Collins High School (832) 484.5500. Assistant Principal handling the case: Mr. Shelly Dick. Seriously. Call Mr. Dick and let him have it. The Superintendent is Jim Cain.

You realize, I assume, that if a student removed – or even burned – the AMERICAN flag, they wouldn’t do anything about it, I’ll bet.

Frosty,

Do you have a link to the full story or a video?  I am all for the Mexican flag not having honor over the U.S. flag, but I would like to see the incident.

Reasons I would not mess with a foreign flag - If the foreign flag were flown in a less honorable position to both the U.S. and State flags.

Reason I would mess with a foreign flag - The foreign flag were the sole flag (not at an embassy) or it were flown or displayed in a place of honor above the U.S. and/or local State flag.

Private property always becomes a major issue, but on a public school ground basic flag etiquette would prevail and be my defense.  I would love to see what other flags were being flown, and how the honors were being rendered.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Agreed. I wouldn't have flown it. But if it was flown appropriately as a Cinco de Mayo cultural day type thing, its hard to argue with. The only excuse the kid would have is if it violated the flag code. The guys with US flag T shirts were in the right. The ones who tore down a  (maybe)properly flown flag were not. Lesson to the kids, you can be just as much of a PITA by being constructive as you can by being destructive. ;D

Kid was in the right!!!

Thank you son for what you did, and thank you parents for raising him right!

You don't get to fly a foreign flag in that manor on U.S. soil unless you have kicked our ass.  To which I say bring it on!

It will be interesting to see if the ACLU steps up to protect this young man and his family for doing what is right!

First off I have read this a couple of times and have left it alone and me takes no more.

You do not see me moving to another country and pulling down their flag and putting  up mine. So I expect the same respect. If these people cannot understand that then move back to the country that flies that flag and leave mine alone. That flag was taken places that these shi* heads have never been, by real men. So they better start flying the right flag of this country. Because when you raise another flag in another country it signals that you are taking territory for that country. Rant off.

The threat of Islamic acts of Terrorism on our soil, the literal invasion of our soil by Illegal Aliens, the "transformation of this country," by the current POTUS, and his cronies, and the constant attack, nibble by nibble on our 2nd Amend, and others, really makes me wonder when that pressure cooker is going to let go.

This event was wrong, the specific school officials should be FIRED! BUT the NEA Union probably won't let that happen.

Like Crusader,

I too weep for my Country. IMHO, something big will happen by this Fall, don;t know what it is, but something will come forth, and be a definitive moment in this countries future.

Might be good, might very well be bad. I pray November is the first step.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
