Just the latest slap in the face to our military. I am surprised we haven't seen a mass exodus as enlistments end.
I am a member of my nation's chosen soldiery.
God grant that I may not be found wanting,
that I will not fail this sacred trust.

A postie earns upto 80k including benefits a year for driving a silly little bike about and popping some letters in a letter box?
Where as a Sgt earns about 55k a year including benefits?
That there is seriously %#%$ed up.

"In fact, lawmakers have lavished so much money on troops, according to the Post, that service members are now better compensated than workers in the private sector with similar experience and education levels."
Gee, what's the difference? Oh, wait, the civvies aren't getting shot at!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

They are (were) paying great re-up bonuses, but the rest is no where near worth what they do for us.

I am of the opinion that people that "serve" (teachers, LEO, military, politicians) should not get paid too much--you need it to be someone that WANTS to SERVE, not just someone in it for the money.  You can see it is true in some cases but glaringly NOT in the last case.

Agreed on politicians. The rest is pure BS. We should serve out of the goodness of our hearts? We should be happy to take a bullet, educate your kid in an underfunded school, or haul your sorry self to an ER because we're nice guys? Meanwhile, if we took our skills into the private sector we would have to suffer the indignity of a real paycheck? Due respect, but that's  a load of crap. Don't lowball me on salary and tell me I'm lucky to serve. Pay me fair market value for what I do, and I'll decide what the benefits of serving are worth to me. Rant over.

Talked to a SEAL, who's reserves now, a couple weeks back and he said that the mass exodus has begun.  He used the word 'exodus'.  The only thing keeping people now is the money apparently.  Claims that the current deployments are abusive in their length nowadays.  They've got people that have been over seas for six or seven years.

He's a wimp.  >:(
Guys left during WWII and didn't come home till they were wounded, or Killed. Just the end of the war was not enough to be rotated home, They had to have enough points. These guys nowadays have basically year on year off.  Waah.
As for the "Exodus" don't blame them a bit. As the Country is now it does not deserve their sacrifice.

That's BS FQ.  The most heavily funded schools in America are in Detroit, where a Freshman has a better chance of going to prison than completing High School because the Union protected overpaid incompetent teachers are driving a 75% (yes, that's seventyfive percent ) Drop out rate.
You liberals and fake Libertarians say America's education system lags behind third world countries on test scores, but you avoid asking how you are getting your butts kicked by schools that don't have a tenth of the money or resources that get pissed away here.
Based on competitive testing most teachers should be glad they are not out on their azz.
And I don't want to hear any crap from FQ about "I DO MY JOB", because I'm the guy who corrects all the erronious historical statements you make.

Had a teacher at my kids former school tell me that they needed a levy to pass for pay raises because she was poor. First things first I owned the oldest vehicle in the parking lot and it was a mini van. All the teachers was driving brand new suvs, and their retirement is second to none. Maybe they should stop crybabing and suck it up.

BHO tried last year to get the militarys medical dropped and they would have to get private insurance. He did not think of taking a pay cut or his faithfull peice of crap cronies taking pay cuts or getting private insurance. If you are their commander then you should lead by example.

Maybe they should take a pay cut and drive a USED car, after all they only work 3/4 of the year, none of them are worth more than $45 K  ($5K/Month of work. ) BEFORE DEDUCTIONS.

After all, It's for the Children.

Politicians like to keep police, fireman, teachers and soldiers poor so they can raise taxes for promised pay raises that never quite materialize.  Most taxes I've heard of the last 40 years on state levels were going to help police, firemen and teachers....if they had kept their word those guys would be doing quite well.  The only ones who get the big bucks are the political ones that tow the line....rank and file don't eat so well.  My mom taught 30+ years and was smart enough to raise her son in the knowledge that many politicians lie and use people as the means to an end they don't discuss.

BHO the buffoon.  How in the name of anything good could so many people have been fooled and remain fooled by the juvenile shuck and jive he put out?  I would hope those who voted for him are ashamed enough realize they were gullible, irresponsible and lacking in due diligence and might think to try to avoid being like a juvenile member of a glee club the next time they vote.

Clearly BHO was the most poisonous of the dems, truly lacked a background of virtually any kind of relevant life experience, yet the lemmings followed him like the Pied Piper was pulling their strings.  They fed on the poor and oppressed line and he's worth a million...friends with known terrorist...friends of machine thugs....what chumps.
