Actually, there were 2 pistols and an assortment of knives and a samurai sword. Apparently that constitutes "packed" to the MSM.

What I want to know, is how did this jamoke get past the hawk-eyed inspectors at TSA? Huh? How? And in NYC no less?

CAIRO (AP) — Police have detained an American-Egyptian man who arrived in Cairo on a flight from New York with several weapons in his luggage, airport officials said Wednesday

The officials said the man was taken into custody as he tried to pass through customs with a metal box containing two 9 mm handguns, 250 bullets, several swords, daggers and knives.

The box had been checked and the contents were discovered during a routine inspection upon arrival on an Egypt Air flight from New York's JFK International Airport in Cairo, according to the officials. They said customs inspectors were then alerted and the man was detained.

He was only identified as a botany teacher.

A police official confirmed the man was questioned by agents of the powerful State Security Apparatus and the case had been turned over to prosecutors for further investigation.

All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to reporters.

Actually, the system did work. Yahoo with weapons found? Yes. Said checked weapons a danger to the passengers? No. The security services of Egypt, an allied nation that hates Islamic extremists more than we do and will cheerfully give a you a lifelong  phobia of pliers and soldering irons alerted? Yes. Involving the US Justice system with all those pesky rights? No. To me, problem solved.

I bet he did not have a permit to have those guns in NY.... He walked right through that little law now didnt he..... worth the paper its printed on.

Exit Question: Are laws still actually put on paper?

Both good points. And in answer to your question, I don't think so. Thanks to Al Gore's (the inventor of the internet's) efficiency in government act, I don't think you can get a free paper copy of bills anymore. Its still free, just only available on-line. >:( I know it saves money, but I'd still like to know the law of the land if the power goes out.
FQ13 who still thinks letting the Egyptians have this guy was the smartest thing we could do.
