Well...............we're fu@ked.  Looks like we New Yorkers will all be carrying revolvers soon.  The criminal legislators in Albany, who can't even agree on what day of the week it is or pass a state budget on time, have agreed on this ridiculous abortion of a law.  Maybe Glock will consider refusing to sell to the NYS Troopers and NYPD as their guns should comply as well, taking a page out of Ronnie Barrett's book.

Hopefully this is receiving some level of discussion at the NRA meeting this weekend.

Yeah until they pass an amendment to the law requiring a retro-fit of the firing pin on any existing semi auto one possesses.  I put nothing past these idiots.

The question is when is it effective?  If they follow California's lead, it will be three years from passage.  Passed in 2007 and will become effective in 2010.

Our law has not gone into effect, because it is still "encumbered by patents" and there aren't multiple companies doing this. Unfortunately, the more states that pass similar legislation, the more likely it will be that it will become a reality. There are other states considering it and there is federal legislation being drafted.

I just thank the good Lord above I live in the west where things are still some what reasonable and folks still are sensible. I know it's just a matter of time before the progressives/liberals start populating the west to the point they dominate city councils and start making knee jerk decisions such as the ones that they have come up with in commie-fornia, NY and others. Hang in there guys - hopefully someone will fight it or maybe the gun manufacturers will tell them it's impracticle.
