Quote
Tonight is the first Fiesta Friday night, and to celebrate, the Marlins are sporting new home jerseys.....
The Marlins didn't wear the Los Marlins jerseys that night against the Dodgers, but will in all other Friday night home games this season.

Done.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I didn't act when the NBA pulled their "Los" stunt, mostly because I don't care for professional basketball.  Baseball, however, is a different story, so I happily e-mailed the Marlins to voice my displeasure.  Don't mess with my baseball!!!  The Marlins are obviously engaging in a publicity stunt, in an attempt to draw fans, due to the fact that their team sucks!  Okay, okay, I'll calm down now.  Rant over.

Do you actually think that this will draw fans?  ???

Absolutely not.  However, their level of play leaves so much to be desired that they are now, I assume, willing to try anything.

Edit:  I stand corrected... the Marlins have won 4 in a row, making them two games over .500, and tying them for second place in the NL East.   :-[  Needless to say, they are not a team that I follow, so I guess I just assumed that they are playing horribly.  However, their attendance and fan support, from what I've seen, is still pathetic.

I don't know, I kind of like it. I'd buy season tickets (box seats even), if they'd print up an official jersey with "Fidel 01" on the back. Just for entertainment value. ;D ;D ;D
FQ13 who might have a few tiny issues with Miami Cubans ;)

Way these ungrateful immigrants are nowadays they would probably print one that says "Fidel in 012".
