The 2008 One Thousand Rounds Challenge
« on: January 23, 2008, 04:19:05 PM »

Howdy !

The 1000 rounds challenge from our show #1 will be turned into a special event here on Down Range TV.

We are heading for a special competition for the year 2008.

Many of the top shooters have come forward and want to beat Todd Jarret's record. We have decided to accommodate them.

We are working on the rules and other details and a special announcement will be made right after SHOT Show in Vegas.

Spread the word !

That sounds great to me. Hopefully it wil be done with loaders as it was for TJ. Other wise starting out with 100 pre loaded  10 round mags would be setting a different standard. All pistols must be currently available stock box single stack with comparable features. Sorry JM no revolvers here 1911A1's only unless they decide otherwise. I would suggest Limiting the Mags to 20 pre-loaded with 3 designated loaders per Team. They can be allowed to use thier own lube of choice, because it won't matter after 300 rounds. Perhaps try to hold it in conjuction with one of the National Championships. Or on its own in a place that would allow for Spectators in conjunction with a kind of firearms manufacturing convention. ( To late for the Shot Show). Just let me know where and when I can buy tickets for this one. Can't wait to see who goes home with their tail between thier legs.

The "set of rules" for this competition will be equal to or as close as we can get to the original Todd Jarrett event.

There is a lot of pressure out there to get things up and running asap, but we have decided to take the necessary time to do it right from day one.

Also.... this is not a competition for "wannabe Gatling Shooters".... To be able to participate in this type of competition, we are talking experienced shooters and we need a set of rules that put safety first.

Whatever the outcome will be...... it will be one heck of a competition and a BIG test both for the shooter and the gun.

Todd seemed to be getting high on the gunsmoke at the end there.  That must have been some adrenalin rush!

it was amazing  did anyone ever beat Todd,

feel for the Mag reloads  would of got a saw thumb that day hehe

hehe  that is one way to break in a Pistol hehe

try and do that today   it would be hard enough just to get the ammo  I am guessing

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Are you allowed to follow British tradition and have a loader with you? Otherwise, perhaps call it the Big Red Thumbs Classic. Either way, I'll watch.

PS Somehow I doubt you'll have difficulty getting ammo company sponsorship. ;D
