Paying the $200 tax, the paperwork and waiting 6 months aren't that fun, but is there any reason besides those not to get a Class III license to own toys like that?

I'd love nothing more then for them to become de-regulated - Fun! Fun! Fun! Plus I'd really like to have one on my night stand gun. Oh, who am I kidding.... I would have one for every gun I own!

I have 2 gemtechs, and I love'm! The only pain about it is that you have to carry the paperwork with them. I just carry copies, and have never been asked to produce them. Still it's a pain. They are fun though.

Aren't there also storage and inspection requirements?

Yes, but since I live alone it's not really an issue. Basically no one but the person who is filed on the paperwork for them can have access. I was still married when I bought them and I had to buy a separate safe so that even my wife couldn't have access. Stupid if you ask me. But I understand they make the gun more dangerous than a high cap mag.  ;)
