SASS Alias/Name
« on: May 23, 2010, 11:03:30 AM »
Ok guys and gals...help me out....

I am seriously pondering joining the SASS and doing the Cowboy "thing".

I need an alias my creative skills are not in this genre and I need some serious help with a name!

Thoughts? Ideas? Opines?

Thanks,

Andy

There was this alternative country band in Austin, Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys (they were pretty good too). Thing is, they used to perform in boots, a hat and a loincloth made out of muflaps. Buck wore the Yosemite Sam kind.
I'm thinking since the band is defunct, you could become Buck Naked, save money on outfits, and gain an intimidation factor. ;D

Hi;

The first thing I would tell you is not to jump quickly into your alias. Your parents gave you your name but you have to now identify yourself as you wish to be known. When I joined SASS I had no problem with my choice. It came naturally due to life expriences.

When I was in the military, I got all the dirty jobs needed to be done because I knew how to "get er done". I felt that I was the same type of person that Ben Johnson played in "She wore a yellow ribbon" his charector was that of the trusted NCO known as Sgt. Tyree - 1 dirty job assigned after another.

From time to time you will see people change thier alias and finially fit into the scheme of things. Take your time, kick it around for a while and do it right the first time.

     Sgt. Tyree,  SASS # 43732

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Where are you from? What do you do for a living? What are your interests? As Sgt Tyree stated you should pick something that reflects who you are as a person. Or who you would like to be as a person!! Possible a favorite character in a western movie?? As dipisc did. I kinda moved away from the SASS idea for more modern stuff like IDPA. But if I were to join I would have selected Capt MaCree after the Lonesome dove series!! I liked what the character stood for!!!

gunsRus,

Somehow the name "coffee swilling ticket writing donut eater" doesn't have the cachet that I desire....  ;)

"Dances with Felons"?  " O.C. Dirtbags"?

On the other hand, my leather biz is my "other" identity which brings to mine names with Rawhide/Leather etc.
