Again, though, we have to bust our butts to MAKE SURE WE DON'T LOSE NOVEMBER.

You guys might be ready to surrender to another Clinton White House, but I'm going to work and speak and vote and campaign against it.

How about the new Mini 14 in 6.8 SPC?  I'm also looking for CCW--possibly Taurus 817UL (one more round than my [wife's] Dick Special.  Worried about hot ammo in alloy frame, tho--only using standard pressure rounds in the mini-Colt right now.  Any info on heavy +P in the alloy Taurus?

What gun to buy? That's a tough question to answer. Who knows what will or won't happen or what will or won't be banned. Would some guns be outright banned and be required to be turned in etc.? It is hard to say for sure as of right now. Having said that, any gun is better than no gun. A chance is better than no chance. It also depends on budget too. Because for the price of certain guns, you could buy 2 or 3 other guns instead. I would recommend some options, such as:

1) Ar-15 / Ak-47/ SKS/ some kind of semi-auto rifle, where you could defend yourself when 2 or 3 bad guys show up.
2) a high quality semi-auto handgun with high capacity magazines aka.. Glock/SigSauer/XD/M&P etc.
3) 12 guage pump or semi-auto action shotgun..something that can hold more than 1 or 2 shells at a time.
4) a good quality .22 Long Rifle rifle.. all kinds and sizes, something that also hold more than one shot..i.e. 10 or 14 etc. ammo is cheap...

If I could only buy one. I would pick one of the four numbers above and go from there. It is just hard to know what will happen for sure. But, trying to and being prepared is the best you can do for now. What would you want to have if Katrina happened in your neighborhood and serveral individuals/looters where about to over-run your house?   :-\

Everything you can get your hands on.  If you can get one/some without a paper trail, all the better.

And don't forget the ammo.
