Stranger things have happened, Look at Ford, He was voted for in one district in Michagan and wound up being an alright President.

The talk of a brokered convention is just that.....talk. Fl votes Tuesday and then comes Super Tuesday. Guiliani, McCain, or Romney will take a commanding lead on Super Tuesday. The states with a March primary (IIRC includes Ohio, Texas, & some others) will likely decide the contest.

And if this goes all the way to the convention it is hard to see the delegates turning to Fred. After all, Fred proved he can't win votes in the primary. Gingrich and Jack Kemp are two names that come to mind if a brokered convention turned to someone other than contest winners.

OTOH it is hard to see this happening. I think the primary contests will settle the matter. Huckster may trade his delegates to the leader, if the are needed to put him over the top, for the VP spot. Or Guiliani, if he does poorly, may trade his delegates for some cabinet post or other.

I would not hold out much hope for A) abrokered convention, or B) Fred getting the nomination in a brokered convention.

Regarding someone locking it up on Super Tuesday, I just read this in this morning's paper:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-01-24-delegate-math_N.htm?csp=34

What do you all think?

Can we do anything as a block vote to support Fred instead of a third party  ???

No, it's to late for Fred, even he sees that. The 3rd parties don't get elected"line is crap Andrew Jackson Won when his Democrat party was the 3rd party. Lincoln was a 3rd party candidate, The Republican party was only founded in 1857, It was only 3 years old when it got him elected. Vote Ron Paul, He's our last , best hope short of shooting the SOB's.

I'm afraid we, as a nation, are beyond the tipping point. Too many "eligible" voters are just looking for the fastest FREE CHEESE line. Plant your garden, keep a low profile, prepare for when the cheese runs out. It'll be ugly.  Mac.

Don, one can only hope that this comes true.

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage. Where are we now??????
