BTW, use their grip products (as will anyone's) will improve your shooting performance.

If you happen to be worried about  your blood pressure, using grip strengtheners regularly will dramatically improve your condition.

Uh,...oh just nevermind,...... :-X

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Quaker,
How long have had the gun and how often do you shoot it? I have a Glock 30 and I had the same issue for awhile. After a few thousand rounds, I am able to load it to capacity with no problem. I think it might be a combination of the spring and your thumb...  ;)

That is probably the issue. Its a relatively new gun, maybe a year or two old and I generally only put about 50-75 rounds a month through it. Still, I never had the same issue with my G-17 even when it was shiny new. Although, my dad's 1960s Belgian Browning Hi-Power is still a bitch to load, and your hand will slip off the slide if you don't grip it tight when you cock the thing. I just think that the boys at Glock got a bit enthusiastic with the strength of their springs when they built this. I'll thank them in five years no doubt. Now, I just want to cuss at them. ;D

Don't worry FQ, the 10 round mags were downsized to JUST hold the max, the extensions to the bottom of the magwell, help relieve the spring pressure, I don't have any trouble, but do have double jointed thumbs, that allow me to really bear down hard, not to mention, I have loaded thousands of magazines by hand or by thumb, grip excersizers don't help the thumb.

It's definitely not you. Ok, probably not you. Well. maybe it's you.  :)

Seriously, I had no problems loading my XD45 13 round mags to the max until I changed the springs out for new Wolff springs. Then the last round  became a rat bastich to load. So I'd say the mag design is tighter (as someone said) or the spring is already upgraded in the mag. I counted the coils on my OEM spring and the Wolff - they are the same. Just seem the Wolff spring retains its length, doesn't weaken with use near as much.

I can load my 13th in, but I think I cheat - I press the rim of the 12th down with my left thumb (holding mag in that hand) and push the 13th down on the 12th  with my right thumb while pushing it into the mag with my index finger folded under the thumb by the joint.  Try that.

Too bad your Glock wasn't an AK. You could use a hammer.

PS - If I interpret the colon in your title as separating two independent clauses, I've answered the "Glock question" above. As to the second independent clause, I unequivocally respond, "yes!".  ;D
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

I think the issue is a legal issue with 10 rd mags and states that still have 10 rd limits. The manufacturers tend to err on the side of caution and want to make damn sure you can't get more than 10 in them.

Legally it wouldn't normally be an issue with high capacity mags to get one more in them.

Just my thoughts on the subject.........................
