Mark my words... Graham will confirm Kagan
« on: June 23, 2010, 11:31:14 AM »
No surprise there... he did vote yes on Soto after his showy "tough" questioning.

But anyway... The reason I say this is because of a letter I got from him today. It was in response to the email I sent him a while back laying out the case that her presence on the supreme court would be a danger to our country.

The letter opens by thanking me for contacting him and then goes straight into touting her resume:o  He points out how she has served as Solicitor General, and that she has a "strong academic background in law" . He also states that he has "been generally pleased with her job performance since her confirmation to her current post". He even goes on to say that he "will continue to support qualified nominees who possess a sound legal mind and the ability to make decisions based on law, not personal bias".

HA!

Lindsey Graham (RINO), You are a lousy piece of Pelosi!

TOLD YA SO!

Quote
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina on Tuesday voted in favor of the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, making him the only GOP member of the Senate Judiciary Committee to back Obama’s pick for the high court.

"I'm going to vote for her because I believe the last election had consequences," Graham said in announcing his support for Kagan. "This president chose someone who is qualified, who has the experience and knowledge to serve on this court ... and understands the difference between being a liberal judge and a politican."
Graham repeatedly noted areas of ideological disagreement between himself and the nominee, emphasizing that she is "a liberal," but said that President Barack Obama "chose wisely" when deciding on a judge who shares his ideology.

Ultimately, "it was not a hard decision for me to make," he said, adding that she "will serve this nation honorably."
In announcing his support for Kagan, Graham cited her performance on national security matters during her tenure as Solicitor General and her support from onetime judicial nominee Miguel Estrada as factors in his decision.

Graham also addressed one of the main GOP arguments against her nomination: Kagan's decision as Harvard Law School dean to prohibit military recruiters from using a campus career center on the basis that the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy barring openly gay men and women from serving in the military violated the school's anti-discrimination rules.

"If I believed that she had animosity in her heart about those who wear the uniform, I could easily vote no," Graham said. "I don't believe that."

I sent an excoriating email to that miserable RINO piece of Pelosi and got a succinct reply that he doesn't respond to anyone from outside his state.

Posted by Crusader who always thought Lindsey was a girl's name (and who thinks it might still be--if you take my point--not that there's anything wrong with that). :P

Yeah, none of those congress criters will take anything from anyone outside their district.... real courage, huh? They stand up infront of the cameras and go on and on about making decisions to better America and then will only talk to the people that cast a vote for them. ::)

I have given up and wont waiste my time anymore.... He (his staff) sends me back a form letter, but it is obvious that he has as much interest in what I have to say as he does you.

I wish more then anything he was up for election this cycle..... I would not doubt Alvin Green could take him down. But alas, he just won re-election (rather easily) this last go around so he will be there a few more years.

Hey! Lindsey is right! Elections do have consiquences.

Sucking up, just like Specter, oh, and Grahamnesty can just take his RINO ass home, unemployed. Hopefully SC, has had enough of this crap.

Us "commonfolk" just can't understand the wisdom of Congressional brown nosing...
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

In Glenn  Beck's Common Sense, he makes a case for ONE TERM LIMIT.  PERIOD.  See what "professional" or "career" congress critters has got us?   So many wrongs with our congress would be fixed.

If could force change on congress.   Salaries would be cut by 3/4.   All perks, benefits and retirement accounts would be nullified.   Staff budgets cut by 90 percent.   AND YOU GET ONE TERM.   Make do.   Get volunteers for staffing.

It's like the whole debate about publishing CCW lists.   That's the wrong debate.   There shouldn't be any CCW required in the first place.  Then there wouldn't be any list.   THE ONLY LISTS our government should keep are those who are convicted of crimes.
