Threading 10/22 barrel for silencer?

I am newer to the shooting sports so forgive my ignorance.Can a ruger 10/22 (22lr) barrel,target or standard be threaded to accept a silencer.Please don't ask what brand of silencer, that will be my next ques. I welcome all feedback and again sorry for being stupid.Just trying to learn

First lets start off buy saying you would like it threaded for a suppressor. Then you have to make sure it is legal in your state and find out what kind of permit would be required. (Class II or III ). The answer is Yes to your question  it should be possible to have your barrel threaded to recieve a muzzle brake or suppressor. If done by a competent Gun Smith. Hope this helps.

There are volumes of information on the topic you mentioned, and lots of members on this site with actual experience in the realm of supressors. As suggested, determining the legality and getting the paperwork figured out is the hard part. That done, come back and you will get lots of help in brand and model selection. Someone here may have something for sale that would be just right. Some States, like mine (NC), have passed irrational and fatal laws making it literally impossible for a "regular guy" to legally own one. They make perfect sense to me.  Good luck,   Mac.
