concealed weapon permit

hey guys, i will be 21 soon and i was intrested in getting my concealed weapon permit. it is somthing i have wanted for many years, i just dont know how to go about getting it. i live in arkansas dose anyone know if its very hard to get hear? if you could fill me in on who i need to see and whut all i need to do to get this liscense that would be great. thanks

Google it. In most states its a matter of taking a class (figure one Saturday and $50-$100) getting fingerprinted by your local SO (another $35, at least here in FL.), submitting a form, with the the prints and 2 passport pics ($15 at CVS), adding a check, the modal price seems about $50,  and then waiting 2-4 weeks assuming your checks don't bounce and you have no DQs. ;D At which point you are good to go. Welcome aboard the ship of fools here and please free to ask any question you want, as long as you don't confuse clip for magazine, or use the words "Living Constitution" (don't talk to me, I'm bad ;D), you'll be good to go. BTW, what are you planning on carrying?

I'll buy a gun then trade it on another because I want to try something else. Its not that I'm fickle, just that I want to play the field a bit on a limited budget. The price for this is you can't get too attached to any one gun. Enter the G-26 (the G-27 would be the same in .40). Here, I'm attached. I have found my CCW gun. I am amazed at the accuracy out to 15 yards, it fits in the pocket of a pair of Dockers, has yet to misfire and can be had new for less than 6 bills. There are are many good sub-compacts, but for an across the living room to across the street gun with a lot of mag options, you would be hard pressed to do better. Just my .02 and try the M@P and J frames and Sigs, but for an idiot proof good enough, all the time gun, its damn hard to beat the G-26.

yea man that g-26 is a sweet gun, i realy like shooting it. iv never shot the s&w or sig but if the price was right on the ones i saw :o it's a littel out of my range, but i have herd they are sweet guns.

Do your research online (see Marshal's post) and also talk it up with shooting buddies/other CWP holders - or if all else fails, the guys at a local gun shop. They can tell you all about the process and maybe help you find the cheapest place to take the class.

You will find that other CWP holders and/or the guys at the gun shops will be very informative and open to helping you..... you just have to ask.
