Now I like that, I also like the idea of reaching out to other communities, I will forward this to Rev. Blanchard, in case he has not read it, if I check, he might have already talked about it, He is a cool resource here on DRTV, read his blogs and listen to his podcast's I encourage everyone.
Now as to the NRA, they might not have reached out, but a long time ago, when Brady was going after Saturday night specials, I was kind of in agreement, since I had seen, used and experienced how bad cheap, ( RG, Sterling, Accutek, Tech9's, raven .25's) guns can be, the NRA argument, was " what about poor people, living on a fixed income? They cannot afford a 200.00 gun, but they can afford a 50 - 100 gun, and no it may not be reliable, except for that 1st shot." that did open my eyes, I personally would not want to own one, but if that is all I could afford, well that gun, a baseball bat and a sharp stick, need to be close by. IMHO, mailings to these people asking for funds is silly, internet is now a lot of peoples modern newspaper that costs nothing, but I guarantee, that older, fixed income minorities, probably don't have it, but their grandchildren probably do, If I were king of the NRA, I would spend the money and do mailers, saying simply, " We believe you have the right to defend yourself, please vote for candidates who agree " , no plea for money, no disrespect, just facts, the only thing these people have to offer is that which does not cost money, their vote or their sweat equity in a candidate, sign building parties etc... and the willingness to put a sign in their own front yard.
comments are welcome.
