Couldn't take listening to him long enough to hear the gaff...

Got as far as him listing some immigrants, like Einstein, who have made contributions to America.

Some how I don't think those he listed were illegal aliens, which I think the rest of his speech was going to go on to support....

He recited the Indonesian version. 

I don't care where he was born, the steaming POS is NOT an American. 

I know I am old, and the elementary school books I used were made out of wood, but I learned the Emma Lazarus/Statue of Liberty story in 3rd or 4th grade.  It's the only reason I ever had any hope for the French. 

Offered by Crusader who yearns for 2012 when we may all breathe a little more freely.

You have hit the nail exactly on the head, the Left are not "Citizens of the US", they consider themselves to be "citizens of the world".

Personaly, I am glad he botched it. All due respect to Emma Lazarus and "The New Colossus", but its time we edited the thing as I said in earlier thread. My vote? "Give us your hardworking, skilled and law abiding. The rest can pound sand". Not as inspirational a sentiment granted, but one most of us can get behind.
